what is the OMbulance?
The OMbulance is a retired ambulance converted into a solar-powered mobile sound stage. Using therapeutic light, concert quality sound, and mesmerizing projection mapping, we can bring our sound bath events…. almost anywhere. Provided by a generous grant from the Virginia and Alfred Harell foundation, we are committed to serving the local community, as well as traveling wherever the path leads us. WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?
A sound bath quite literally creates a bath of intentional sound waves that permeate any given space. Participants can move, sit, lay down, stretch, meditate, sleep.... but generally assume a comfortable position lying on the floor soaking up the vibrations. Like waves through water, the sound waves travel into the many layers of the physical and emotional self - gently massaging and stimulating the body and mind. We utilize Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, flutes, drums, the didgeridoo, the human voice, as well as electronic and recorded soundscapes to create certain tones, harmonies, rhythms and frequencies intended to tune, and rebalance the mind-body-spirit connection naturally.
Preparation for SOUND BATH SUCCESS
Avoid consuming alcohol 24 hours before you begin a sound bath
Drink lots of water
Set aside time to meditate, go for a walk or anything that connects and centers you
Create a comfortable nest in which to enjoy the experience
Pillows, blankest, journal, pen, water bottle, etc.
