Nestled along the serene Kern River, Okihi offers a magical escape on 14 acres of private land just 20 minutes from town. With limited public access, our exclusive nature retreat provides the perfect setting to reconnect with the beauty of the outdoors.

Spend your nights under a canopy of stars, lulled to sleep by the distant howls of coyotes and the soothing hoots of owls. Whether you’re seeking peace, adventure, or a bit of both, Okihi offers a camping experience that stays with you long after you leave.

Reserve for a private event

Whatever the occasion may be, a wedding, birthday party or corporate retreat, we may be able to facilitate your special event. Please tell us a little more in the form below

  • 1. Designated areas for smoking only. No smoking (tobacco or cannabis) except in designated areas. Please ask if you would like help finding safe areas to smoke.

    2. No fires, or grills in areas outside of designated fire pit areas.

    3. No fishing allowed on Okihi property.

    4. No outside guests or pets are allowed.

    5. Gates locked from 8pm to 8am for safety. If you need the gate opened or will be checking in late, coordinate with the caretaker.

    6.No illegal drug consumption. Only guests 21 and older are allowed to consume alcoholic beverages. If your consumption makes you a danger to yourself, to Okihi, its animals and/or guests, we have the right to ask you to leave immediately without a refund.

    7. Quiet hours and minimal light pollution observed from 10pm-7am. This allows the nocturnal animals in this area to still maintain important hunting times. 

    8. Animal areas cannot be entered without a caretaker present. Petting animals over metal fences is allowed at your own risk. Electric white fences may be present and should never be touched. 

    9. Our animals love snacks but the wrong snack can kill them. Ask for permission before feeding animals.

    10. Children must be supervised at all times. Unsupervised children or children doing dangerous activities- chasing animals, running off trail, throwing rocks or sticks may be asked to leave without refund.

    11. Life jackets should be worn in the river.

    12. Not all sites can be parked directly at. Some sites have a short walk.  

    13. A wide array of wildlife is present at Okihi. This is their home and we respect a safe distance from ALL wildlife. If you are seen touching, chasing or pestering wildlife you will be asked to leave. Stay on trails and be mindful of snakes. If you see one you can tell a caretaker so they can remove them from the area if needed. 

    14. No generators. Its loud and ruins the vibe.
